Background information. Turrentine turned to jazz fusion and signed for Creed Taylor's CTI label. His first album for CTI, Sugar, recorded in 1970, proved one of his biggest successes and a seminal recording for the label. 1975: Stanley Turrentine (Blue Note Re-Issue Series). 1978: Jubilee Shouts (Blue Note Jazz Classic Series). 1979: New Time Shuffle (recorded 1967). 1980: Ain't No Way (recorded 1968-1969).
