The instant summer anthem follows in the successful footsteps of fun, indie-pop jams "Gimmie Twice" and "D-D-Dance. The Royal Concept are scheduled to release their album this Fall, and if it's full of "even bigger words and melodies," as they claim, the end result could be epic!

To start with the obvious, The Royal Concept sounds a lot like Phoenix. A whole lot. So much so that I was stunned to hear the first track on the radio, "Gimme Twice," and learn that it was not Phoenix's new single. The song heavily features the Phoenix sound, to include the guitar riffs, the vocals, even the phrasing. But it works- "Gimme Twice" is an upbeat, catchy song that is probably the best on the EP. "Goldrush", "Knocked Up" and "D-D-Dance" are all solid tunes  . Stumbled across TRC via FIFA13 and snagged the album at a great price on a whim. Needless to say I'm not disappointed. If you like phoenix you'll like TRC.
