Mozart: Eine kleine Nachtmusik; Ein musikalischer Spass; Divertimento K136. And to think it has come down to us in a truncated form (Mozart's Catalogue indicates the loss of a minuet). The Serenata Notturna is a festive work which Mozart wrote for Salzburg whereas the so-called Divertimenti, K 136 - K 138 were written as germinal symphonies on the occasion of his last trip to Italy; will we ever understand how a thirteen year old boy could write music of such longing and finish? I Musici's earlier survey of these works was recorded in July, September of 1972.

Sérénade no 13 en sol majeur Eine kleine Nachtmusik ; K. 525; serenata in Sol maggiore K 525; Piccola Serenata; Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major; Serenade nr. 13 for strygekvartet & bass i G-dur; Serenade für Streicher in G-Dur. Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus. Opus/Catalogue NumberOp. The work originally consisted of five movements, with an additional Minuet and Trio placed immediately after the first movement. Mozart's handwritten catalogue lists the work as: "Eine kleine Nacht Musik, bestehend in einem Allegro, Menuett und Trio. Menuett und Trio, und Finale".

Eine kleine Nachtmusik (Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major), K. 525, is a 1787 composition for a chamber ensemble by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The German title means "a little serenade", though it is often rendered more literally but less accurately as "a little night music". The work is written for an ensemble of two violins, viola, and cello with optional double bass but is often performed by string orchestras.

Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525: IV. Rondo. Serenata notturna, K. 239: III. Rondo: Allegretto. Serenade no. 8 For Four Orchestras, K. 286 "Notturno": I. 286 "Notturno": II. Recent albums by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
