The Sylvers are an American R&B/Soul family vocal group from Watts, Los Angeles, California. The Sylvers were one of the most popular acts during the 1970s, recording the hit singles "Fool's Paradise", "Boogie Fever" and "Hot Line". Prior to becoming the Sylvers, the four eldest members (Olympia, Leon, Charmaine, and James) recorded as the Little Angels, appearing on shows such as Make Room for Daddy and You Bet Your Life, and opening for such acts as Johnny Mathis and Ray Charles.

Boogie Fever: The Best of the Sylvers is a definitive 16-track collection that contains all of the group's hits, from "Fool's Paradise" to "Falling for Your Love. In between, the Top Ten R&B hits "Wish That I Could Talk to You," "Boogie Fever," "Hot Line" and "High School Dance" are heard, as are a number of smaller hits. Not all of the songs are as infectious or memorable as the big hits, but they're solid disco and soul cuts.

Produced by Freddie Perren. Boogie fever Got to boogie down Boogie fever I think it's going around. I took my baby to the drive-in show She turned the speaker down And then she turned on the radio I watched a silent movie Digging funky sound. I took my baby to the pizza parlor To get a bite to eat I put some money in the jukebox for her You know, she ate her pizza Dancing to the beat. Boogie Fever topped the Billboard Hot 100 for a week in May 1976 and Billboard’s Hot Soul Singles chart in March of 1976. It also topped the RPM charts in Canada and was also certified Gold. So "Boogie Fever" doesn't sound too bad by comparison, after al. .right? The Sylvers were well-suited to their time; but their time just happened to be an alternate dimension when we look back on it now. For all of that, they really put their all into the show - note the brass section and disco-style piano work on this piece. Hey, listen to it again, it's catchy It reached (for 1 week) on April 30th, 1976 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart.
